ICEMA Announces New Governing Council for 2023–25
The Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (ICEMA) has announced its Governing Council for the 2023–25 term, bringing together senior leaders from India’s construction equipment and allied industries. The newly formed council offers balanced representation from OEMs, component manufacturers and technology-driven companies that continue to contribute to the sector’s growth.

V. Vivekanand, Managing Director, Caterpillar India Pvt Ltd, has taken charge as President of ICEMA, while Deepak Shetty, CEO & Managing Director, JCB India Ltd, has been appointed President Designate. V. G. Sakthikumar, Chairman & Managing Director, Schwing Stetter India Pvt Ltd, will serve as Treasurer.

The council further includes seasoned industry leaders such as Dimitrov Krishnan (Volvo CE India), Sandeep Singh (Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery), Arvind Garg (Larsen & Toubro) and Anand Sundaresan (Ammann India), each bringing extensive leadership experience and continuity to the association.

Alongside them, the Governing Council comprises representatives from CASE Construction Equipment, Cummins India, Kobelco Construction ÌÒ×ÓÊÓÆµ, Sany Heavy Industry India, Tata Motors, Terex India, Wirtgen India and others, demonstrating the depth of industry participation within ICEMA.

The newly included members — Shailabh Chaturvedi, Shweta Arya, Eddy Moses, Deepak Garg, Anees Boxwalla, Jaideep Shekhar and Ramesh Palagiri — highlight ICEMA’s heightened focus on next-generation technologies, global integration and sustainable equipment solutions.

Seema Gupta continues as Director General of ICEMA, guiding the association’s strategic initiatives in line with India’s expanding infrastructure programmes.

The Governing Council is expected to drive core industry priorities such as localisation, technological advancement, skill development, sustainability frameworks and enhanced collaboration with government authorities. With India accelerating investments in roads, mining, metro rail and industrial corridors, the new council is set to play a crucial role in shaping policy advocacy and supporting the long-term growth trajectory of the construction equipment ecosystem.
